A Carolina Panther is Renting Out His Apartment for the Super Bowl
Safety Roman Harper lists his place on AirBnb. He'll be away—playing in Super Bowl 50.
Roman Harper is going to be out of town on Sunday, February 7, so like a lot people these days, he decided to rent his vacant apartment on AirBnb.
Harper isn't going on vacation, though. As a safety on the Carolina Panthers football team, he'll be busy playing the Denver Broncos at Super Bowl 50. "Come watch me play in the Super Bowl—from my own couch!" reads the Airbnb listing, which a company rep confirmed to Thrillist was indeed real.
For a $5,000 fee, a Panther fan can have the ultimate Super Bowl viewing experience in Harper's one-bedroom, two-bath apartment in Charlotte, N.C. Amenities include a 24-hour concierge staff, billiards lounge, Sky Lounge, Cyber Bar basketball and tennis courts, a junior Olympic pool, a 4,000-square-foot health spa, and, naturally, an HDTV screening room outfitted with surround sound for the ultimate Big Game viewing experience. Whoever rents the room even gets to take a memento home—a signed football.
While Harper's pad may seem like the perfect place for the ultimate Super Bowl fantasy gathering, the listing actually says that no parties are allowed. In fact, only two people can be in the apartment, per the listing.
If you prefer to yell at the TV in an intimate gathering, this could be the perfect place—and it's all for a good cause. Proceeds of the rental go to Harper's Hope 41 Foundation, and Airbnb will match the proceeds.
Just remember: no cleats on the hardwood, no football practice in the hallway, and no pets (especially Broncos).
