American Airlines Flights Grounded at Major Airports
"Technical issues" are impacting several airports.
American Airlines flights at three airports have been ground stopped due to technical issues at the airline.
The advisory in the Federal Aviation Administration database cited “airline issues” as reason for the stop. According to CNBC, the stop will be in effect until at least 2:30 pm ET, though airline officials said they did not know how long it would take to resolve the issue.
A spokesperson for American Airlines told TIME, “We’re working to resolve technical issues impacting several airports as quickly as possible. We will provide updates and more information as they become available. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience.”
The FAA confirmed on Twitter that the outage affected Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, O’Hare International Airport, and Miami International Airport due to computer issues.
