This $21-a-night Hotel in Bali Offers 'Puppy Therapy' Twice a Week
A retreat to Bali typically entails plenty of relaxation and restoration. But, one hotel is taking that to the next level with a bunch of adorable, cuddly, and downright therapeutic puppies.
Puri Garden, a boutique hotel and hostel located in Ubud, is causing quite a buzz with its new therapeutic dog sessions held right on its own lawn. According to Insider, the hotel partnered with the Bali Dog Association, a charity working to end the unnecessary suffering of street dogs in Bali, to bring in a few pups two days a week.
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 1.30 p.m. to 3.30 p.m., the charity sets up a small enclosed area by its pool. There, guests can come sit, play, and hug all the puppies they desire. And it appears the pups are a big hit with guests.
“I really hesitated to stay at a hostel this pricey — but man do they make the price worth it,” one reviewer wrote on Hostel World. “The pool area is so relaxing and a great place to meet people, and the puppy therapy is exactly what you need if you’ve been [traveling] for a while and just need to see some happy animals.”
Puppy therapy isn’t the only thing the hotel has going on. Puri Garden also comes with several comfortable room options including a double, twin, four-bed female dorms, and eight-bed mixed dorms. Guests can also dig into its new cafe, where they’ll find healthy fare including vegan and vegetarian options as well as Asian and Western-style meals. Visitors can even take part in free daily yoga, social events like BBQs, dance performances, movie nights, and guided tours throughout Bali.
So, if you’re looking to stretch, relax, socialize, eat an amazing meal, make new friends, and hold an adorable puppy all for a good cause, this is the hostel for you. The best part is the rooms start at just $21 a night.
