British Citizens Who Want to Move to Iceland Can Get a Free Flight
Iceland based WOW Air is offering free flights to British citizens who want to move to the country before October 1.
The airline currently operates out of three airports in the United Kingdom, including London Gatwick Airport, Bristol Airport, and Edinburgh Airport.
British citizens who want to take advantage of the offer will need to plan to live in the country for at least one year, and will be required to submit proof of their intention to take up residency there through a lease agreement, a school acceptance letter, or an Icelandic social security number.
Passengers can email this information to MovingToIceland@wow.is to get a full refund on their departure flight once their application is approved. They will also need to submit their booking reference and a picture of their passport for the flight.
“We wanted to show how hospital and welcoming Icelanders really are, and this was a fun and different way to do that,” said WOW Air CEO Skúli Mogensen.
Not only is Iceland home to a dramatic landscape of soaring volcanoes, massive glaciers, and black-sand beaches, the country also ranked as one of the world's happiest by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network this year.
