Frontier Is Giving Away Free Flights, but Only to People With This Last Name (Video)

Frontier Airlines has good news and bad news. The good news is, it’s offering free flights this month. The bad news is, you can only get those free flights if your last name is Green or Greene.

Right now, Frontier is celebrating its Green Week initiative, which centers around the company’s aim to reduce its carbon footprint. According to the Frontier website, the company’s fleet is 39 percent more fuel-efficient than other airlines already, but it wants to do more. The airline is also focusing its attention on using sustainable materials like compostable cups, napkins made from recycled materials, and bamboo stir sticks.

In honor of Green Week, the airline is giving out prizes and deals to anyone who wishes to enter.

But, people with the last name Green or Greene have one more reason to enjoy Frontier’s eco-friendly promotion. Anyone with that particular moniker is eligible to receive a refund up to $400 for round trip flights.

One catch: Greens and Greenes can only fly free on August 13. According to The Points Guy, the departing flight must be between 12:00 a.m. and 11:59 on August 13, 2019, and the return flight must arrive by 11:59 on August 20, 2019. It’s important to note that the person in question must purchase their tickets first before applying for the refund. All refunds will be rewarded by September 15. The “Green” refund is not applicable to spouses, parents, children, and siblings if their last name is not also Green(e).

It’s not the first time an airline has rewarded passengers for simply having the “right” name. WOW Air also did a promotion in February 2019 that awarded free flights to any passengers with the first or last name Valentine. Virgin Atlantic did a similar giveaway with its competition to win a free flight to St. Lucia, but only for people with the name Lucy or Lucia.

If you have the magic last name of Green or its alternative spelling, you can enter by booking a flight on the Frontier website.
