The rear fuselage of a FedEx cargo plane caught fire at Fort Lauderdale airport on Friday, the Palm Beach Post reported.

On arrival from Memphis, the plane’s landing gear collapsed and caught fire, sending what appears to be a piece of metal flying onto the tarmac.

The fire was extinguished within a few minutes, according to a spokesman for the local sheriff’s office. Flights are currently grounded, but airport officials expect to reopen with residual delays by 7:00 p.m.

One runway was closed.

Both pilots escaped unharmed, and no injuries have been reported, but the fate of all those Amazon Prime packages remains unclear.
