American Airlines Has a New Lounge at Dallas Fort Worth That Will Make You Want to Pay for the Upgrade (Photos)
Premium American Airlines passengers will notice a big difference at the airline’s renovated lounge at Dallas Fort Worth.
On Thursday, the airline’s Flagship Lounge re-opened after a yearlong renovation. The all-new Flagship Lounge is open to first and business class passengers, and everything is complimentary.
The space is a calming getaway from the hectic airport terminal, with quiet rooms, individual work pods and showers available.
The lounge includes hot and cold food buffets and a chef’s table of made-to-order meals. Lounge access also includes wine, champagne or something from the “make your own cocktail” station.
"From here to Heathrow, you may need to sleep as soon as you get on the plane," Janelle Anderson, the airline’s vice president of marketing, told Dallas Business Journal. "You're able to have a nice experience here and not have to necessarily wait for food service on the plane."
Within the lounge is Flagship First Dining, a sit-down restaurant open to first class passengers on international flights. The meal service is complimentary for these passengers and features locally-inspired menus, according to the airline. Choices include Texas Beef Brisket Platter, Roasted Redfish on the Halfshell and Crisp Gulf Oysters.
The lounge is the airline’s fifth Flagship Lounge and the fourth Flagship First Dining location. It’s located next to gate D21 in the airport.
The airline is in the midst of a $200 million project to renovate lounges across its network. Other Flagship Lounge locations include Los Angeles International, Chicago O’Hare, New York JFK and Miami airports. The airline will soon open additional lounges in London and Philadelphia.
