Since founding Mango African Safaris 16 years ago with her business partner Casey Hermansen, Sullivan has intensively vetted each experience they offer, spending weeks at a time on the ground. She has hitchhiked, taken trains, and ridden camels, horses, and elephants, always seeking out what’s around the next corner. Sullivan pays particular attention to the pacing of a trip, limiting the number of one- and two-night stays at safari camps, and is adept at booking travel during the more affordable green season.
