A Capetonian who knows the coolest things to do in South Africa’s hottest city, Fricker also plans multicountry trips that lets travelers hopscotch through the best of Africa’s safari camps, including Singita Grumeti Reserves, in Tanzania, and One&Only Nyungwe House, in Rwanda. She's particularly fond of Rwanda, in fact, and has lately been planning numerous trips to the country's three major national parks, Akagera, Nyungwe, and Volcanoes. Her itineraries also leave time for exploring the buzzy city of Kigali, where she introduces travelers to local scenesters and artist. Of course South Africa remains a favorite, too. She's keeping a close eye on Cape Town where new places to stay — including the Dorp Hotel, Labotessa Hotel, and Camissa House — keep popping up, as well as the De Hoop Nature Reserve in the Overberg region, which is just starting to trend, she says. "The Walker Bay wine region isn't new but is getting a lot more play lately," Fricker adds.

"Tamsyn designed the trip of my lifetime, a life-changing adventure to South Africa and Zambia that I will never forget. She expertly planned every detail for our family group of eleven (ages 11 to 73) to perfection — and that’s no easy task given all personalities, preferences, and age differences. The trip incorporated a balance of city pleasures with outdoors and wildlife adventures that none of us could have ever imagined. I will never forget the look on my children’s faces during our first game drive. Tamsyn visits Africa frequently and has personal relationships with the carefully selected properties and private guides she books, and this really makes a difference. Our trip was pure magic!" - Allyson Kopel
