An expert at arranging discounted business- and first-class fares on major carriers, Tumpowsky — the founder and CEO of Skylark — saves clients thousands of dollars by seamlessly navigating increasingly complex flight changes and cancellations.

"My team and I are always evaluating price, best routes and quality of onboard experience," Tumpowsky shares. "Right now we love Delta's new international business class and premium economy products and Qatar's Q Suite."

In addition, he notes, while in the past airlines' schedules would be reliable about 11 months out, now almost every flight booked more than 45 days prior to departure has some sort of schedule change (or flat out cancellation.) "Minor ones are easy to handle, but major ones can really impact a vacation. I monitor queues on a daily basis so that we can work with clients to find the best solutions," Tumpowsky says.

Tumpowsky has been featured in Travel Weekly's "Year End Executive View," The New York Times, Bloomberg, Harper's Bazaar, Worth, and has been nominated for the Virtuoso Innovation Award. A serial entrepreneur, he has taught at Columbia University, has been a mentor with the White House Business Plan Competition, and an advisor to several young travel technology startups.
