One success was a glamping trip to the Las Coloradas region of Patagonia to view a solar eclipse, complete with a private viewing area, chefs, and local guides. Another was for a family tour booked by the family matriarch, for which Sanz Bernay set up a gentle hike to the top of Llao Llao Hill in Argentina’s Rio Negro region, snorkeling over a sunken ship, and even a surprise magic performance for the kids. "We work hard to get to know our clients' hearts and minds and combine that personality with our in-depth knowledge of regions, cities, sights, hotels, and restaurants," Sanz Bernay says. "Food, wine, and the outdoors are big passions for our travelers, so we'll incorporate little thins like a surprise picnic or a special bottle of sparkling wine to toast after a challenging hike." For one blowout Patagonia trip for a group of 30 friends and family, she organized buyout stays at Explora and Solo lodges. "For that trip we did the impossible," she says, "We planned a private ice-hiking experience on Perito Moreno Glacier, with a surprise whiskey tasting with glacial ice and a Handpan musician in the middle of the ice field." Through several in-depth phone conversations, she determined what we like to do, as well as our expectations and values. Jean developed an itinerary that matched our wants and needs, building time in each day for us to do exactly what we wanted, at the right pace. We traveled halfway around the world to get to our destination, and we didn't want to waste any time, but this was never the case. Jean exceeded our expectations in hotels, tours, and recommendations for activities and restaurants. We always felt safe and cared for—she was always a quick phone call away. She is honest, fun, and incredibly approachable. There were several times during our trip we had to reach out to Jean to quickly pivot for a change in plans, and she was always available, with a savvy and calm demeanor and can-do it attitude. I had never traveled using a service such as Jean's, but now I won't travel any other way. I highly recommend her as a travel guide and friend." - Sherrie E.
