Angling is a longtime passion for Donley, who has been in the travel business for 25 years. While she operates worldwide, the American West is her specialty: she recently orchestrated an epic Alaska adventure for a couple's 25th anniversary that combined fishing with viewing bears and marine wildlife at two lodges, including one 200 miles north of Anchorage on the Iditarod Trail.

Montana’s Big Horn River is another of Donley’s favorite fishing grounds. For a group of eight, she coordinated four days of pristine fly-fishing complemented by stays at luxe mountain lodges, picnic lunches, and evening cocktails and appetizers at the end of each day. “The group included a couple novices who came with their fathers or grandparents, and it was a big deal when one of them had a ‘grand slam’ (catching five fish, each a different species, in one day),” she says. “Trips like those are a learning experience for everyone—the guides are always looking at the water, wind, the bugs on the river and the fish below.”

We always have wonderful guides, be it swimming in Mexico's underground cenotes, exploring the Greek Isles, or fishing in rivers out west.
