Having worked as a naturalist, photographer, Zodiac captain, and trip leader, Palmer knows what it takes to pull off an epic adventure, particularly in the polar regions and the Galápagos. Among the recent land excursions he's arranged are a flight to the top of a glacier in Alaska and a private visit to the historic churches of Chiloé Island, in Chile. In the coming years, Palmer says, consumers will have even more options, as dozens of new vessels have recently or will soon enter service. He's particularly excited about new ships from Atlas Ocean Voyages, Lindblad Expeditions, Scenic Cruises, Seabourn, and Swan Hellenic Expeditions—just to name a few. "I think the pandemic reinforced how important it is to use our time wisely and make sure that we live our priorities," Palmer says. "We all have an even stronger appreciation for life-changing travel experiences."
