In Wisconsin, the Sugar River State Trail in Brodhead offers up some 23 miles of gentle trails for biking enthusiasts. After a day spent exploring the country, give your legs a brief rest and take the scenic drive to the pedal-friendly city of Madison. State capital and home to the University of Wisconsin, the city has an energetic vibe, a robust population (235,000 and counting), and excellent restaurants that serve fortifying portions of locally produced cheese and beer.
