Bermuda’s clear waters and high-service hotels were, until recently, largely the haunts of wealthy honeymooners and golfers. The 21-square-mile British dependency, a mere two hours by plane from New York, is far more affordable these days, thanks to the 2006 arrival of JetBlue, which forced all other airlines to come down in price. With a fresh influx of tourists, this supremely English island is bouncing back from its battering by Hurricane Fabian in 2003—and unbuttoning.
