Solo travel is becoming an increasingly popular choice for travelers, according to data from Airbnb.

The home booking site revealed that the number of reservations made on their platform by solo travelers has continued to grow over the years, now representing 14 to 27 percent of all bookings. 

Though solo travel can give you the chance to unwind and find yourself, it can also seem daunting when you don’t know which destinations are ideal for going it alone.

To help, Airbnb has pulled together a list of the most popular places solo travelers are heading to, based on the number of bookings made in 2016.

Airbnb also looked at the destinations that are starting to gain heat with solo travelers, based on the places seeing the largest increase in bookings over the last year.

Finally, Airbnb looked at which of their experiences solo travelers are booking most, which includes everything from taking a workshop filled with tea drinking and hat making in London to kitesurfing in Los Angeles and learning how to make paella in Spain.

"Over communal white wine, we learned three wonderful dishes, and I met friends whom I ended up hanging out with for the rest of my trip," an Airbnb guest wrote of the paella experience.
