When it comes to spring getaways, there's no better way to see the changing landscape than by train—and an 85-hour train ride through India is no exception. According to Mashable, the Dibrigarh-Kanyakumari Vivek Express takes passengers to/from Dibrugarh, which is located in north-east India, and Kanyakumari, the southern-most section of the Indian mainland. That's more than 2,655 miles over the span of 85 hours.

Since we all unfortunately can't jet off on a 3.5-day train tour of India, Ed Hanley—a musician and photographer from Canada—grabbed a seat for the journey and videotaped the entire thing. The result is a stunning timelapse video reminding us all why taking the extra time to travel by train is most certainly worth it. Check it out:
