For the second year in a row, Zermatt in Switzerland has been dubbed the best ski resort in the Alps.

The ranking comes from the Best Ski Resort Awards, which surveys 49,000 winter enthusiasts about 54 ski resorts across 20 categories.

The survey, which was conducted by Mountain Management and the University of Innsbruck in Austria, covered categories like size of the resort, the quality of slopes, entertainment and food options, and more.

Zermatt was the overall winner, maintaining its position on top thanks to its fairytale setting. The picturesque views of the Matterhorn, mountaintop restaurants, exclusive slopes, and prime accommodation choices all contributed to its ranking.
