Just in case you're wondering how much a beard could possibly grow over the span of a year, we've got one person's answer for you. And we're not talking the usual beard growth that may include a bit of grooming here and there. This traveler's impressive beard took a year of walking and absolutely no trimming to reach its epic status.

Christoph Rehage took off on a one-year trek, the goal being to walk through China to Germany. Now, he didn't quite make it all the way to Germany, but he did finish the year-long hike with a massive beard. His video compilation showcases sights from his travels, from the Gobi Desert to Anguo.

As he shares in the description of his Vimeo video, this is not like the other "one photo a day" compilations you're used to seeing. There are days when more than one photo will show up to better add some movement and plot to the video. There are also moments when you'll spot Rehage using a different form of tranportation.

His Vimeo page offers an explanation: "There are instances where you can see me in the video sitting on a plane or riding a boat, but those are during breaks I had to take from walking, either to sort out bureaucracy issues or to take care of some personal things."

The entire jaunt amassed close to 2,800 miles. The section from Beijing to Ürümqi — that's 1,800 miles, folks — was done completely on foot. Check it out above, and prepare to be impressed.
