Some users can book premium suites for 50 percent of the upgrade price.

According to a press release by the company, one in three hotel rooms typically go unsold on any given night, particularly higher category rooms such as suites. And since an empty hotel room is worth approximately nothing to a hotel the next day, event a discounted price offers properties a bump.

With this new feature, HotelTonight is offering hotels a way to fill these rooms last-minute, while giving consumers access to otherwise unsold rooms at the best possible rate.

Nearly 250 hotels worldwide have signed up to take part in HotelTonight’s new feature, including popular hotels in New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, Paris, and Miami. The company plans to add more over the next several months across its 1,700 markets in more than 35 countries.
