Prince William and Kate Middleton are just days away from embarking on their royal tour of India and Bhutan that includes a busy schedule of meeting with dignitaries and visiting historic sites. And one of those prominent spots includes the famous five-star Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai.
“The Duke and Duchess are following in the footsteps of other world figures, including The Prince of Wales and The US President who have both used their stays at the hotel to display solidarity with the people of this great city,” read the official release. “On arrival they will lay a wreath at a memorial inside the hotel and meet members of staff who helped protect guests during the attack.” Their visit to the landmark property will also include the royal couple meeting with staff members and attending a Bollywood charity gala.
Opened in 1903, the luxury hotel features 560 rooms and suites ranging from $250 a night for a city view room to $15,000 for the Tata Suite. While VIP travelers get a private spa, butler and chef with that price tag, all guests get to enjoy amenities like a spa, salon, outdoor pool, 24-hour gym and on-call doctor.
