Kate Hudson has been touring Cambodia with her boyfriend and a local guide for the past week.
She announced her arrival on Instagram from Phnom Kulen mountain last week, writing, “It doesn't take long to fall in love with the beautiful country of Cambodia.”
Her trip continued through the Cambodian jungle, local markets and the country’s famous floating villages.
And, of course, she made a stop in one of the country’s most popular tourist destinations, Angkor Wat. It’s the largest religious monument in the world, a Hindu temple dedicated to Vishnu. Hudson and her boyfriend explored the expansive monument at sunrise, before it became overrun with fellow tourists.
Hudson delved into the history of Cambodia with the help of a local guide name Vy.
“Vy has taken us on the most insightful adventures and has shared with us in depth the tumultuous history of this country,” Hudson wrote on Instagram. “He speaks of his personal hardships and those of his people, he shares stories of his starvation in his youth and the on going struggles of extreme poverty here.”
Later Hudson shared an image of herself in a World Food Programme vest, hinting that she would be working with the organization. The World Food Programme is a United Nations organization that works to end hunger in 80 countries around the world.
