Capturing the perfect prom photo can be a challenge, from getting the right pose down to making sure everyone’s hairdos are in place. A group of teens in Canada discovered one method to nabbing the perfect shot: including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Trudeau was out for a jog along the seawall in Vancouver, British Columbia, on Friday as a group of teens were taking photos for their prom celebration. At first the teens appeared not to notice the prime minister, according to his official photographer, but they quickly realized that the shorts-clad runner was none other than Trudeau.

One of the teens spotted the prime minister and asked him to join in their photo shoot, and he courteously obliged.

“We were just taking photos and hanging around talking, and then Trudeau, he just comes running,” said student Constantine Maragos, CBC News reported. “We were stoked.”

It’s not the first time Trudeau has appeared in strangers’ photographs. The athletic prime minister had been surfing on a beach in Tofino, British Columbia, when he stepped out of the way to make room for a beach wedding. Trudeau can be seen in the background of her photos.
