Police told the outlet that the man, who had been dropped off at the airport in the afternoon to fill out an application, decided to hop over a perimeter fence and try to sprint across a tarmac after realizing he was in the wrong location at the airport.

The man, whose name has yet to be released, started running down Runway 9 at Miami International but was quickly stopped when someone spotted him on the runway and notified police, according to the Miami Herald.

He was taken into custody on Monday and is currently under investigation, though charges are still pending as of Tuesday morning, Miami-Dade police officials told Travel + Leisure.

The incident comes just months after another MIA visitor, Jason Brad Pearce, trespassed onto the airport’s runway after driving his truck through a locked gate, according to the Miami Herald

Pearce, who later got out of his truck and scaled a second fence, was found hiding in a crawl space in an electrical room at the airport. He was shot by police after swinging from a ceiling pipe and lunging at the officers, according to the publication.

He was later taken to the Ryder Trauma Center at the Jackson Memorial Hospital and charged with felonies that included trespassing into an airport restricted zone, battery on a police officer, and depriving an officer of his weapon.
