Actor Chris Hemsworth gets to explore some spectacular scenery in Australia. For one, he's the country's global tourism ambassador for their Aquatic and Coastal campaign, which focuses on the country’s beaches.
And as part of his career, the star has traveled to some of the country’s top hotspots, including the Great Barrier Reef. Now, he’s back at it again, sharing some recent shots while on vacation with his family.
The family can be seen exploring the country’s coastal lagoons, which is all part of a day’s work when it comes to Hemsworth's position.
They also took some time to go camping and surfing in the country’s clear beaches.
“I was born in Melborne and spend a lot of time every weekend traveling with my dad down the coast,” Hemsworth said of his home country during an unveiling ceremony of his tourism board position in New York last year.
Hemsworth also spent his 34th birthday in his home country, booking a stay at the Orpheus Island Lodge. The private island resort in Queensland is known for its exclusivity, with space for just 28 guests at a time. Rooms start at about $2,300 a night.
“Australia has some of the most diverse, vibrant, and pristine coastlines in the world,” the actor told Travel + Leisure regarding his love for his home country.
“There are places where the red dirt meets crystal turquoise water, and you can go days exploring the coast without seeing anyone else; or you can be in the heart of a buzzing city, like Sydney or Melbourne, with great restaurants and beaches just around the corner,” he said.
