Marcel Wanders's better-living-though-edgy-design emporium is for the cultivated set, espousing such high-minded dictums as "Moooi leads the understanding of culture, human needs, and technology." In his shop just south of the Wynwood Arts District, you'll find rarefied items like Maarten Baas's Smoke Chair, a leather Chesterfield armchair with wooden legs that have been burned to a charcoal black and finished with epoxy; Richard Hutten's Dandelion Chandelier, made of white laser-cut, powder-coated pieces of steel that look like wispy flowers; and Wanders's own white porcelain Sponge Vase, which is just as delicate and airy as a real sea sponge.

Tip: You can see Wanders's work on a broader canvas when the new Mondrian Hotel South Beach (1100 West Avenue; (305)672-2662), which he designed, opens in late 2008.
