Weybridge
University of Vermont Morgan Horse Farm
The French Second Empire-style barn at the center of the Morgan Horse Farm is a white Victorian structure with a mansard roof and widow's walk. Inside the building, the Morgan Horse, a uniquely American breed first bred in Vermont in the 1780's, is perserved by the University of Vermont on a farm that was deeded to the US government by an act of congress in 1951. Visitors to the farm can tour the barn and learn more about the horses, known for their speed, strong legs, and short stature.
Insider Tip:
While there's not too much going on in Weybridge, the town is just 15 minutes from Middlebury, which has a lively downtown with plenty of places to eat and shop.
