The first Oxfam store to be redesigned by Jane Shepherdson (formerly of Topshop), this Westbourne Grove boutique opened in 2008, successfully transforming the retail division of the global aid agency. Once known for its frumpy secondhand threads, the shop now sells recycled clothing worthy of a high-end boutique. Even the store’s interior was remodeled, resulting in a bright, airy space with polished wood floors, oversize mirrors, and sleek glass display cases. The racks are lined with affordable, unaltered designer pieces as well as donated items reinvented by London College of Fashion students. All proceeds go toward funding for Oxfam projects.
During special events, the shop often brings in accessories such as handbags and jewelry from other local boutiques.
