Jacques Torres Chocolate, New York

Map
350 Hudson St., New York, NY 10014, United States

Visible courtesy of the large front windows, the gleaming silver pipes and machinery of this Hudson Square chocolate shop are proverbially hard at work, and you get the sense that the mesmerized onlookers wouldn’t be at all surprised if an Oompa Loompa stepped into view. Chocolatier Jacques Torres is known for his chocolate chip cookies, chocolate-covered pretzels, and Wicked Hot Chocolate, which is made with real chocolate instead of cocoa powder and jazzed up with spices like cinnamon and chipotle chili peppers. Check out the popular nut-laden dark or milk chocolate bark, the Java Junkie milk chocolate bar with coffee crunch, and the chocolate-covered caramel popcorn.
