Oya

777 9th St. N.W.
Washington, DC, 20001, United States
TEL: (202) 393-1400

Sushi and French fusion reign at this conspicuously cool Penn Quarter restaurant with a Miami-chic feel. White décor and an indoor waterfall enliven the dimly lit and intimate space populated by a see-and-be-seen locals crowd. The food is also diverting, ranging from a full array of sushi offerings and seafood specialties (Chilean sea bass and chili-infused crab cakes) to an extensive wine and cheese menu and intense desserts (banana bread pudding and molten chocolate cake). Oya's popular lounge is a sensual space of white leather sofas, semi-private seating, and a fireplace-backed bar.

Insider Tip:

Oya's happy hour specials are not accessible from the main dining room. Stop in at the adjacent lounge before dinner for roughly half-price wine, cocktails, and sushi rolls (5 to 8 p.m. weekdays).
