Set in the artists' colony of Vinalhaven, the Tidewater Motel was a mill and blacksmith's shop in the 1800's. Today, the 19 light-filled rooms evoke a quaint Maine cottage with quilted bedspreads and the occasional rocking chair. The nearby docks and quiet side streets make this tiny island, accessible by ferry from Rockland, the perfect New England escape.
