1 Albertinaplatz
Vienna, 1010, Austria
TEL: 43-01-534-830

This Neoclassical style palace-turned-art museum was built in 1744. Twenty-one Habsburg staterooms, such as the Hall of the Muses, are decorated with Albertina Gold, which is gold leaf made with a blend of gold, copper, and silver alloys. The Wedgwood Cabinet room is noted for its intricate porcelain reliefs. A dramatically designed titanium roof with a prominent overhang was built in 2004 and has since remained the building's trademark. Masterpieces by Da Vinci, Cezanne, and Raphael have been displayed at the Albertina since 1805, and one of the world's largest print rooms can be found here—it houses 65,000 drawings and one million prints spanning numerous eras.

Insider Tip:

Hungry? Head beneath the palace where you'll find a sausage stall. Order your meat of choice along with sides of mustard and bread for under €3.
