What began in 1886 as a way to make a few extra dollars from summer rentals grew into one of Vermont’s premiere resorts over the following century. Today, the Basin Harbor Club contains 74 cottages and four guesthouses across 700 acres of lakeshore property. On-site amenities include an 18-hole golf course, Olympic-sized pool, tennis courts, hiking trails, and extensive gardens. Water sports and boating are available in the harbor and the resort’s designation as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary means there’s plenty of wildlife to watch. Family (and pet) friendly, a daily kids’ program is available throughout the summer.
Room to Book:
As most of the many events occur near the main lodge, ask for a cottage far from it for privacy and quiet.
