Located at the corner of Abbot Kinney and San Juan in the small beach community of Venice, 3 Square Café is the creation of veteran chef/restaurateur Hans Röckenwagner, whose stints in kitchens in Germany and Switzerland are evident throughout the menu. Locals flock to the sidewalk patio, especially on the on the weekends, but there’s also a small amount of seating inside. For lunch, the pretzel burger and sandwich sampler (a choice of three) are especially popular, while at dinner patrons come for comfort food like pot roast with red wine reduction and twice-cooked pork with corn grits.
