Things to do in Vail

There are so many things to do in Vail, fitting them all into one vacation can be difficult. Skiing or snowboarding is the number one activity to pursue in Vail when the powdery snow starts to come down in white waves. From gentle hills for beginners to narrow verticals for the pros, there are a wide variety of slopes and trails to cater to all abilities. With over 1,000 acres on the front of the mountain and over 3,500 on the back bowls, as well as the Golden Peak terrain park, you will never grow tired of the same monotonous runs.

While the mountain sports are unparalleled, there are many other things to do in Vail during the winter. From dog sledding, to tubing, to snowshoeing, to a day at the spa, there are plenty of activities for those who don’t want to brave the slopes.

Wondering what to do in Vail when the snow melts? The mountain is bustling with activity during the summer months when hikers, mountain bikers and white-water rafters visit in droves. Taking in the flora and fauna of the summers on horseback is a must-do activity.

The area’s calendar is chock full of festivals and celebrations throughout the year and provides a host of things to do in Vail away from the mountain. From culinary events like Feast Vail and Gourmet on Gore, to live music at Vail Jazz Festival and the classical music concert series, Bravo! Vail, there’s always something going on in the town.
