Upper West Side
Café Luka
Located in Manhattan’s Upper East Side, the restaurant’s name is lit above the doorway on an almost neon-green sign. Though the wood paneling and navy booths inside don’t resemble the typical, retro diner atmosphere, the huge menu (that includes everything from lasagna to Spanish omelets) and late night hours certainly solidify Café Luka as a greasy spoon type of place. The brothers, Marc and Jon Bash, who run the diner try to make it feel more like a neighborhood spot by greeting regulars by name.
Insider Tip:
Even though they offer delivery, avoid it; supposedly, this is where quality slacks at Café Luka.
