Upper East Side
Sushi Seki
Sushi Seki is a comfortable, no-frills restaurant in the upper East Side, with green-tea colored walls and a plain wooden sushi bar. In lieu of a dazzlying atmosphere, the focus is on some of the most loved Japanese food in the city. Chef-owner Seki, like his teacher, sushi master Gari Masatoshi from Sushi of Gari, is known for his unique flavor combinations, including a penchant for jalapenos. The omakase is the best way to experience Seki's cuisine; some offerings include chopped toro, unagi with avocado, and a spicy salmon roll.
Insider Tip:
Sushi Seki is open until 3:00 a.m., or until the chef decides to close up. Experience sushi at midnight!
