Upper East Side
The Mark
New York, NY, 10075, United States
TEL: (866) 744-4300
Situated on the Upper East Side, this landmark hotel combines a 1920’s façade with a contemporary interior by renowned French designer Jacques Grange. Zebra-striped floors make a bold statement in the lobby, which also contains orange-velvet sofas and a low-hanging spiral light fixture. Although relatively understated, the 150 guest rooms all include modern artwork; black-and-white marble bathrooms with aqua cabinets and deep soaking tubs; and a touch-screen panel that controls everything from the window shades to the Bang & Olufsen audio system. The hotel also houses a Frederic Fekkai salon and a restaurant by acclaimed chef Jean-George Vongerichten.
Room to Book:
If you value a quiet stay over an impressive view, request a room facing the inner courtyard rather than noisy Madison Avenue.
Insider Tip:
Make reservations in advance for the popular Mark Restaurant, and keep an eye out for celebrities—former patrons include Paul McCartney, Woody Allen, and Roger Federer.
