With no signage or storefront windows, it’s easy to miss this U Street Corridor establishment. Adding to the speakeasy vide, Gibson patrons must ring a bell to gain entrence to the 48-seat secret lounge. Once inside, guests enjoy artisanal cocktails curated by Derek Brown. House made infusions, top shelf booze, fresh juices, and the occasional flamed orange peel are the makings of Brown’s extensive specialty menu. Classic cocktails are well-crafted and rein supreme – think stiff martinis, Horse’s Neck, and rye whiskey Manhattans.
Insider Tip:
Avoid long waits by making a reservation for one of the downstairs, inside tables. Call between 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
