La Vita e' Bella has direct beach access in a secluded setting near Tulum. Owned by an Italian couple who fell in love with the area during a vacation, the resort is a collection of beachfront bungalows on wooden stilts facing a stretch of rock-free, white sandy beach only a kilometer from the well-preserved Mayan ruins of Tulum. Rooms are simple, with accents of brightly painted tile and bathroom sinks decorated as inverse fishbowls. The on-site restaurant, La Vita e' Bella, specializes in brick-oven pizzas, but also serves Mexican and Mediterranean cuisine.

All rooms face the sea and have hammocks on the front porch, but due to delivery and maintenance traffic, avoid rooms 20 through 23.

Visit the Gran Cenote geological formations, a scenic spot for snorkelers and divers to explore underwater caves. A seven-minute drive from the hotel, it's located near the intersection of highway 307 and the Coba/beach road in Tulum.
