If deciding between the cuisines of eastern Asia is a challenge, the fusion cuisine served at Foxley, a restaurant near Trinity Bellwoods Park, might be the answer. Japanese-trained chef Tom Thai calls on his Chinese-Vietnamese background (via South America) to produce a unique brand of tapas that includes lamb and duck prosciutto dumplings, seared water buffalo liver with arugula salad, and grilled spiced venison wrapped in lá lốt leaves. The narrow space's interior design is decidely less Eastern-inspired, incorporating classic exposed brick walls and IKEA-inspired furniture and tableware, while the back patio offers open-air dining at shiny, aluminum tables.

Insider Tip:

If getting a table quickly is essential, it's best to arrive early as Foxley has limited seating and doesn't accept reservations.
