Toronto
Colborne Lane
Claudio Aprile has a unique distinction; he’s the only chef to be awarded six out of five stars from Toronto.com, and his fine dining restaurant, located just east of the Financial District, has been covered by publications like GQ and Food & Wine. The industrial-chic space incorporates Douglas fir beams, whitewashed walls, and weathered hardwood floors. Aprile's thought-provoking, Asian-tinged fare—he’s not keen on the term "molecular"—is painstakingly presented, and it takes items several months to actually make the menu. Representative dishes include halibut with du puy lentils, lamb loin with spiced eggplant, and pork tenderloin with apple chutney.
Insider Tip:
If bringing a large group, the 15-course “kitchen table tasting menu” that includes ten savory, one intermezzo, and four dessert courses.
