Located inside Stephen Bulger Gallery in the Queen Street West arts district, Camera is a small rentable theater with a six-by-eight-foot screen and comfortable stadium seating for up to 50 viewers. On Saturdays, the theater opens its doors to the public for free screenings of international films that relate to the gallery’s current exhibition, which typically showcases cutting-edge contemporary photography alongside historical prints. The venue also hosts receptions, book launches, fashion shows, and cocktail parties in the adjacent lounge, which is designed with a fireplace and an audiovisual system that syncs up with the screening room, enabling simultaneous broadcasts.
After a movie, explore the other galleries within a three-minute walk of Stephen Bulger, including the David Kaye Gallery, Paul Petro Contemporary Art, and the Museum of Contemporary Canadian Art.
