Canada's biggest airport hosts an average of 32 million passengers, and 400,000 flights per year. Pearson's two terminals, the somewhat confusingly named Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, are connected by the frequently running LINK train. Both terminals handle domestic, Canada-US and international flights, and are characterized by their contemporary design, with soaring ceilings and plenty of oversize windows. Although not known for stellar shopping (expect fairly standard magazine stands, gift shops, cafes, bars, and chain restaurants), each terminal has its own fee-entry Plaza Premium Lounge, offering airline-lounge amenities, regardless of airline or fare class.

Toronto's Sheraton Gateway Hotel offers travellers direct indoor access to Terminal 3, making it the most convenient place for an overnight layover.
