Shinkokusai Bldg. 1F, 3-4-1 Marunouchi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, , Japan

Japanese pastry chef Sadaharu Aoki established a reputation in Paris before opening his all-white, ultra-modern Marunouchi shop, where exquisite pastries are displayed like works of art. Glass cases filled with rows of brightly colored macaroons, cakes, and elaborate pastries appear almost too beautiful to eat. Aoki is known for innovative, cross-cultural creations: green-tea custard atop eclairs, green-tea ganache inside of pastries, green-tea butter cream icing, Earl Gray-cream filled macarons, and "Japanese smores," with marshmallow creme, thin chocolate wafers and azuki red beans. French servers bring the treats and beverages, such as green tea latte, to tables.
