Japan's love affair with the ramen noodle is celebrated at the Shin-Yokohama Ramen Museum, an interactive exhibit space that includes a ramen 'theme park' with recreated mid-20th-century ramen shops from around Japan. At each shop, visitors can purchase a meal ticket from a vending machine, interact with costumed interpreters, and enjoy a different variety of ramen, from Sapporo to Kyushu-style, each with different toppings prepared with differnt methods. In the permanent exhibition space, vintage radio broadcasts of noodle commercials play as visitors stroll through displays of ramen memorabilia. Packaged ramen and noodle bowls are on sale at the gift shop.
