Inspired by the street vendors of Mexico, chef Rick Bayless developed Frontera Fresco, a casual restaurant located on the seventh floor of Macy’s. Bayless has won several James Beard awards as well as the title of Bravo’s Top Chef Master so it may comes as a surprise that he chose to open this food court alternative, but hungry shoppers appreciate the fresh, hand-made Mexican classics. Menu options include the sweet corn and green chile tamale, tortilla soup, and tacos filled with everything from roasted pulled pork to chipotle shrimp, even chorizo sausage.

Insider Tip:

Arrive before 11:30 a.m. if you are stopping by for lunch; otherwise, you may end up waiting close to 20 minutes just to order.
