Restaurants in The Exumas

Restaurants in the Exumas are known for serving Bahamian staples heavy on freshly caught fish like cracked conch and pan-seared snapper, as well as hearty, stick-to-your-ribs fare like coconut fried shrimp and fried chicken served with peas and rice. Most restaurants in the Exumas are laid-back, casual dining experiences, where good home cooking and friendly chatter stand in for high-end fine dining.
Some of the most popular restaurants in the Exumas include Santana’s Grill, which serves up laid-back Bahamian vibes alongside staple Bahamian dishes, as well as the Chat & Chill Bar & Grill, whose weekly Sunday pig roast delights (and sometimes shocks) droves of tourists. Another favorite in the Exumas is Café Alesha, a relative newcomer to the scene that has nonetheless delighted tourists and locals alike with its fresh and lively take on traditional Bahamian cooking. (Compared to other Exumas eateries, Café Alesha is a fairly formal affair.) Eddy’s Edgewater Club is another can’t-miss dining destination in the Exumas. You can sample a daily-changing menu of Bahamian classics from a sunny terrace overlooking Lake Victoria; visit on Mondays to take part in the island’s popular rake ‘n’ scrape music night.
