Things to do in Tennessee

Things to do in Tennessee are abundant. Outdoor enthusiasts can hike the Smoky Mountain’s trails or ski around Gatlinburg in the winter. Water lovers will find plenty of white water paddling in the eastern part of the state, too. Or simply rent a cabin, sit down on a rocking chair, and relax in the fresh mountain air.

Lovers of the arts can delve into country music at Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry or head west to Memphis for a trip to Elvis’s Graceland home or a stroll along Beale Street, the birthplace of the blues.

If history is more your thing, the beautiful and inspiring National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis is more than worth a visit, while the Chattanooga area offers some of the best maintained Civil War battlefields in the country. If you don’t want to go exploring and still need to find what to do in Tennessee, then visit the many visitor stations that can be found throughout the state. Or just ask a local what to do and enjoy that famous Southern hospitality.
