Between the Covers Bookstore
Housed in a narrow 19th-century building, this independent bookstore contains an old hardwood floor, which the owners lovingly describe as “creaky and crooked,” and wall-to-wall shelves lined with everything from bestsellers to cookbooks. The shop also has an extensive selection of children’s literature, as well as regional books, poetry collections, and local author picks. In addition to books, the store carries a variety of CD’s, handmade greeting cards, and maps of the surrounding area. The High Alpine Coffee Bar in the back is a popular local gathering space with free Wi-Fi and freshly baked pastries.
